Jayaprakash Narayan (11 October 1902 – 8 October 1979), is remembered by all those who believe that politics is synonymous with struggle for egalitarian and secular society. He led the opposition from the front and gave a clarion call for peaceful Total Revolution during the 1970s. His impeccable commitment to probity in public life and unwavering espousal to the people and communities on the margins remain a great source of strength for the Rashtriya Janata Dal.
